Home Alive is the latest iteration in an ongoing project to replace conventional construction materials with Engineered Living Materials. Salix alba, or white willow, whips are controlled and channeled using a combination of distinct scaffolding systems, eventually growing to become the primary structural members. The ultimate goal is the creation of structures that are environmentally responsive and sustainable by their very nature.
