The space is completely inhuman, detached from the desires of its user. It is a closed, homeostatic system. It is not so much a buildings, as a field. It is a set of rules and relationships made material. 
The basis of the structure is the staircase. This form is repeated, rotated, sheared, and mirrored. Through these operations, the staircase is transformed to take the place of barriers, gates, and bridges. 
The place itself traverses by its nature, but it is also a space to be traversed. Although one can simply get lost in the maze, there exists a goal. With some luck or patience, one might reach the upper level, which is paved with a labyrinthine path. This walking path winds above the lower level, granting a reprieve from the chaos below.
