2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial
In Collaboration With Michael Hoehn
The proliferation of Modern architecture can be seen as a direct consequence of industrialized production, and the development of the factory typology. Redundancy is an absurdist criticism of the aestheticization of efficiency, presenting a tortuous manufacturing process borrowing all of the mechanical inhumanity of the assembly line while retaining none of the performance.
This model was one of many used in Tatiana Bilbao Estudio’s 2017 Chicago Biennial entry, (Not) Another Tower.
